How does "Reserve with Card" or "Reserve with PayPal" work?

Accepted Answer

When you reserve a painting with a card or PayPal, your payment is authorized but not charged immediately. The studio confirms the piece is still available and completes the charge within 4 days. If it can't be confirmed, the hold is released automatically and you're never charged.

Question 3

Can I cancel a reservation?

Accepted Answer

Yes — contact the studio before the 4-day window closes. Since the charge hasn't been made yet, canceling in time means you won't be charged at all. This doesn't apply to Wire Transfers or Bitcoin payments, which are final once confirmed — see the next question.

Question 4

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Credit or debit card, Wire Transfer, PayPal (processed securely in US dollars), or Bitcoin. Cards and PayPal payments are authorized as a hold and charged within 4 days, as described above. Wire Transfers and Bitcoin works differently: it's a direct, final payment — once your transaction confirms, the sale is complete and there's no hold or 4-day window. Question 5

How much cost to ship internationally a unframed painting?

We are experienced in shipping paintings internationally. Paintings without frames are carefully rolled and packed in durable, weather- and impact-resistant packaging. We do not charge for shipping. Paintings with frames are carefully packed in protective wooden crates. Shipping costs are arranged directly with the client.

If I want a framed painting, how much would international delivery cost?

Shipping costs are arranged directly with the shipping company. For your convenience, they offer multiple payment options, such as credit card, wire transfer, Venmo, PayPal, and others. We personally request shipping quotes and provide our clients with the best available options.

Is every piece an original?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every painting on this site is an original, hand-painted work by Malu Moreira and all paintings come with certificate of authenticity.

How do commissions work, and how long do they take?

Commissioned pieces typically take 4 to 6 weeks to complete, from an initial consultation on concept and scale through final delivery. See the Commissions page for the full process.

For commissions, can I send photos of the area where I would like to place the paintings so you can send me some options and help me choose?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In many cases, Malu asks for photos of the space where the painting will be displayed, allowing her to thoughtfully match the artwork’s colors and composition with the surrounding environment.

Can I see more detail on a piece before buying?

Accepted Answer

Yes — click any photo on a painting's page to zoom in and examine texture and brushwork up close. For a large or important piece, contact the studio to request additional information.
