A Guanacaste Art Studio
Malu Moreira paints from the Tamarindo area of Guanacaste, on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. For several years her work was shown in a public gallery space in Tamarindo; that space has since closed, and the practice now runs the way most working artists' studios do — paintings are seen by appointment in Reseva Conchal, shown at exhibition venues around the province, and sold directly to collectors here and abroad.
In practice that means something better than a shopfront for most people. A studio visit is unhurried and private: you see finished work, pieces still in progress, and the materials and surfaces behind them, and you talk to the artist rather than to a salesperson. Designers and architects working on Guanacaste projects often come with dimensions and a palette in hand and leave with a plan for a specific wall.
Every painting sold here is an original, one-of-a-kind work — signed, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

Malu has exhibited across the Guanacaste coast since 2016 — at beach and golf clubs, festivals and community venues around Tamarindo — and nationally at the Museo de Arte Costarricense in San José as part of the official programming of Costa Rica's Ministry of Culture and Youth.

Where is Art Gallery Malu Moreira based?
The gallery and studio are based in the Tamarindo area of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. There is no longer a walk-in gallery space — work is shown by private appointment at the studio, at selected exhibition venues around Guanacaste, and online with worldwide shipping.
Can I see the paintings in person?
Yes, by appointment. Private studio visits can be arranged for collectors and interior designers visiting Guanacaste — call or WhatsApp +506 6373 9942, or email karol@malumoreira.com, and a time will be arranged. There is no drop-in gallery to visit without booking.
How do I arrange a studio visit?
Message the studio ahead of your trip with the dates you will be in the Tamarindo area and the kind of work you are interested in. Visits are typically arranged within a day or two, and there is no charge or obligation to buy.
Do you deliver paintings within Guanacaste?
Yes. Delivery and hanging can be arranged throughout Guanacaste, including Tamarindo, Playa Langosta, Playa Grande, Playa Flamingo, Playa Conchal, Brasilito, Potrero, Villarreal, Huacas and Santa Cruz. For homes and hotels further afield, shipping is arranged case by case.
Can I buy a painting from Costa Rica and have it shipped home?
Yes — this is done regularly for visitors. Unframed paintings are rolled and packed in durable, weather- and impact-resistant packaging at no shipping charge. Framed paintings travel in protective wooden crates, with shipping arranged directly with the client.
